The way you drew the side view of the face is well done. The nose, lips, and chin line up nicely, which is tricky from the side. The blue color makes it pop, and I know we used that color in the course, but try using some other colors as well to branch out and try your own ideas too. Keep experimenting, keep being brave, and keep drawing!

Comment on Miss lady by Tim Samuel https://sparketh.com/art-feedback/miss-lady/#comment-7432 Wed, 04 Feb 2026 18:23:11 +0000 https://sparketh.com/art-feedback/miss-lady/#comment-7432 This one has a lot of feeling in it! It feels like the person is calm, maybe even daydreaming.
So I would say you did a beautiful job making this face feel gentle and alive. I love how the soft curves make them feel relaxed instead of stiff. Also the orange on the cheeks and the purple on the lips add warmth and personality. My favorite part is that the hair has lots of lines, which makes it feel long and flowing instead of flat. Great technique!

Next time, try grouping the hair into a few bigger shapes first, then add lines inside them. That helps hair look less scratchy and more smooth. You could also gently blend the cheek color with your finger or a tissue so it fades softly into the skin. I’d also suggest that you try adding a light shadow under the chin and neck. This helps the head feel like it’s sitting on the body instead of floating.

Keep it up! You’re doing great!

Comment on Man’s face by Tim Samuel https://sparketh.com/art-feedback/mans-face/#comment-7430 Wed, 04 Feb 2026 18:19:49 +0000 https://sparketh.com/art-feedback/mans-face/#comment-7430 Wow, you’re really getting good at drawing faces!

What I love is that you put the eyes right in the middle of the head, and that’s exactly where they go! A lot of people mess that up, but you got it right. Also love that the nose has a clear shape with nostrils, not just a line, which shows you were really observing.

Let’s try this next time: Your face is a little skinny at the bottom. See how the jaw gets narrow? Next time, make it a bit wider. Kind of like the face should be shaped more like an egg. That’ll look more natural.

Those light lines you drew across the face are called construction lines and they’re awesome! Keep using them. But when you’re done, lightly erase some of the guide lines so the face pops more.

Keep drawing people! Maybe draw your friends or family. You’re doing really well.
